Furthermore, her mother was a famous violinist and her father was a bass player and managed a TV station. She was the granddaughter of an architect, Howard Dwight Smith, who designed the Ohio (“Horseshoe”) Stadium at Ohio State University. 

Beverly D’Angelo belongs to a Mixed ethnicity and her nationality is American. D’Angelo was born with the astronomical sign of Scorpio. She was a single girl child of her parents.

During the initial stage of her career, Beverly D’Angelo worked as an animator/cartoonist at Hanna-Barbera Productions before moving to Canada to pursue a rock singing career. To keep the wolf from the door, D’Angelo also worked as a session vocalist and left no place to sing be its coffeehouses and bars.

Furthermore, she was invited to join up with rockabilly legend, Ronnie Hawkins. Soon, she joined the band, ‘The Hawks’ which is now popular as ‘The Band’.

Her acting career started when she toured Canada as Ophelia in “Kronborg: 1582”, a rock musical version of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. Fortunately, D’Angelo’s performance could not go out of Colleen Dewhurst’s sight.

Gradually,  Gower Champion got into the mix and the show was completely revamped, becoming the rock musical “Rockabye Hamlet”, which made its way to Broadway in 1976.

Acting career

After this show, D’Angelo never stepped on the stage but did star alongside Ed Harris in the 1995 off-Broadway production of Sam Shepherd’s “Simpatico”. In 1976, she appeared in the first three episodes of a television miniseries titled ‘Captains and the Kings’.

This series was lauded by the audience which brought confidence in her. Not only confidence but this miniseries also got her introduced to Woody Allen, who presented her with a small yet key role in 1977’s ‘Annie Hall’.

D’Angelo appeared as ‘Actress’ in ‘Rob’s T.V. Show’ while Woody Allen was in the lead role. The same year, she also played the role of Shelley in First Love and ‘Sandra’ in ‘The Sentinel’.

Her acting career took off and even Hollywood could not help from admire her. In 1987, she appeared in ‘Every Which Way but Loose’ and ‘Hair’.

She was the winner of the ‘Theatre World Award’ after her return to the theatre circuit in 1994. Angelo’s pace was down a bit with movies and her only key roles were Barbara Miller in the HBO series ‘Entourage’, a role in ‘Gamers: The Movie’ and ‘Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.

She portrayed roles in ‘The House Bunny’ and ‘Black Water Transit. She came back to the entertainment industry and played some major roles like ‘Moira’ in ‘Frat Pack’, ‘Edie’ in ‘The Unicorn’, and ‘Millie Barnworth’ ‘.The Michaels’.
